G. Gamini Jayawardena - Civil Consultant
Mr G.G. Jayawardene holds a Bsc (Eng) in Civil Engineering from the University of Colombo, SriLanka and is a Chartered Engineer. His has extensive experience, which counts over 44 years in water resources development, planning, design and supervision of construction of hydro-electric power projects and planning, design, and contract management of major projects.

Mr Jayawardene has attended and carried out inspections, feasibility studies on Hydro power plants in USSR, West Germany, London, Canada, Switzerland, China, USA and Vietnam.

At present Mr. Jayawardene serves as Consultant for several Mini Hydro power projects such as for the Batatota (2 MW),Kadawala (5MW )and Adavikanda (6 MW ) mini hydro plants. He has been a consultant to the Projects of Rakwana Ganga Mini Hydro Project, 600kW, Delgoda Ganga Mini Hydro Project (2.3 MW) and Eratna Mini Hydro Project (9MW) .

Mr. Jayawardene has worked at the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB), Srilanka for 20 Years and last served as the General Manger. During his employment at CECB he has carried the following major projects such as the Headwork projects of the Mahaweli Accelerated Program viz. Victoria Project (210MW), Kotmale Project (201MW), Maduru oya Project, Randenigala Project (122MW) and Rantembe Project (49MW). Electricity Masterplan Study, Samanalawewa Project (120MW), Kukule Ganga Project (70MW), Upper Kotmale Project (150 MW ) and Uma Oya Project ( 150 MW ).

He also worked at the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) for over 12 years holding numerous positions and lastly held the position of Chief Engineer. Over his employment at CEB his specialized services has been in the following major projects such as the Wimalasurendra power plant (50MW), Bowatenna power plant (40MW), and the Samanalawewa Power plant (40 MW).

His has severed as a member on several government appointed committees to evaluate and consult on tenders, procurements of Hydro power projects and related equipments.

He is also a Fellow Member of the Institution of Engineers- SL, a member of the Institute of Engineers–London, Member of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Sri- Lanka and a Member of the Colombo plan fellowship in Canada on Design of Dams and Power Stations.
